Lighting plays a major role in shaping modern workplaces. In this project, Elcoled collaborated with HB Plastik and design studio Atelier1401 on a transformative office lighting solution. The result combines aesthetics and efficiency while supporting employee wellbeing and sustainability.
Designing the Ideal Atmosphere: Transforming the HB Plastik Office with Light
HB Plastik wanted a bright, welcoming office that encouraged concentration and teamwork. Elcoled's solution was central to this goal, taking the office beyond conventional lighting through thoughtful design.
Elcoled Expertise: Advanced Lighting Technology
The Elcoled team selected each luminaire for a specific purpose:
Linear LED Profiles: Integrated into the architecture for continuous, elegant light. Architectural Wall Lighting: Highlights vertical surfaces, branding and artwork to add depth. High-performance Downlights: Optimised for working and circulation areas with uniform, low-glare light.
Each luminaire was selected with an appropriate Colour Rendering Index (CRI) and Correlated Colour Temperature (CCT). Warm tones were used in collaborative areas and cooler tones in spaces for focused work.
A Sustainable Strategy Combining Efficiency and Intelligence
Sustainability was central to this project. Elcoled reduced energy use and provided long-life solutions that minimise maintenance costs and the carbon footprint.
Smart Controls and Automation
For a more efficient, controlled system, Elcoled implemented the following solutions:
Casambi (BLE): Scene control and scheduling through smartphones. Zigbee: Networked systems responsive to movement and daylight. DMX: Used for ambient and effect lighting in the reception and branded areas.
This layered control system helped HB Plastik achieve its environmental goals.
Human-centred Design: Improving Focus and Wellbeing
The lighting plan was developed to support employees' visual and mental needs, providing comfort and productivity throughout the day.
Focused Lighting and Glare Control
LED spotlights with dedicated optics highlight architectural details and work areas. Elcoled carefully minimised glare and optimised light distribution.
Bringing a Shared Vision to Life
The project was realised through close collaboration between HB Plastik, Atelier1401 and Elcoled. Each stage, from concept to installation, was completed in line with the project goals.
